You have to look at the whole picture. In China it is illegal to have more than one child. It's called the One Child Policy or something like that. While on the otherhand you cannot give your child up for adoption, it is also illegal to abandon your child, so the only legal option for these mothers is abortion, which can be forced upon them up to the due date. So they will hide their pregnacy and then abandon thier children in a public place in hopes that they will be found and place in an orphanage and eventually a loving home.
